Premier Screening of Polka!
A Documentary by Wisconsin Public Television

     Turner Hall is excited and proud to be the site of a screening of Wisconsin Public Television's new documentary titled Polka!, which will be broadcast Monday, March 6. Meet and greet - in person - the incomparable Mollie B., who hosts the documentary and will be making a guest appearance at Turner Hall for the screening. You might even see a little of Turner Hall in the documentary as well!
     Turner Hall's Ratskeller Restaurant will of course be open, and we encourage you to make it a complete evening by enjoying a delicious meal before the screening. Please call (608) 325-3461 to make your reservation.

Monroe Swiss Singers' 51st Swissfest
Sunday, November 5, 2017; 2:00 pm

     A longtime Monroe tradition, this program features an afternoon of Green County's finest Swiss folk choirs and performers. Adding to the authentic experience, the Ratskeller Restaurant will be open following the program for more Swiss culture!

Christkindlmarkt - Old World Holiday Shopping Market
Friday - Saturday, November 24-25, 2017; 9 am - 4 pm

     A German tradition dating back to the 14th century, the Christkindlmarkt features unique items from hand-selected quality vendors for your holiday gift-giving. A European café and Swiss baked goods round out this special shopping experience.

Alpine Carol Sing and Candle Tree Lighting

      A very special traditional Alpine event at which you can help light 100 candles on a freshly-cut evergreen Christmas tree! Informal singing of carols and holiday treats, and a visit from Swiss Samichlaus and his bad-behavior consultant, Schmutzli. NOTE: Although this is a family event, it is advised that it may not be suitable for very young or fearful children!

Deutscher Weihnachtsgottesdienst (German Christmas Communion Service)

St. John's United Church of Christ; Monroe, WI. Free-will offering.
      A truly touching Christmas experience for the soul. Conducted entirely in German (English translation available) by members of the Monroe Swiss Singers.

     Usher out the Old Year with Barefoot Becky and the Ivanhoe Dutchmen! Admission includes cheese and crackers, glass of champagne, party favors and a midnight balloon drop. The Ratskeller Restaurant will also be serving an elegant buffet that evening. (Not included in the dance ticket price.)
